Lightning rods (air terminals)
A lightning rod is a special device designed to protect buildings, structures and equipment from lightning strikes. It is installed on the roof, on a special support or mast, and diverts the electrical charge generated during a thunderstorm.
Antenna supports are traditionally installed on roofs, while satellite dishes are usually mounted on external walls. Reinforced concrete supports should be used in densely populated cities. They must first be protected from lightning, since most of them stand in open areas
