Description

Steel tanks are an important part of industrial storage.

Metal containers, steel reservoirs and tanks are used for various liquids, including aggressive ones, as well as bulk and dry substances, products and materials.

Metal containers can be above-ground or underground (RGSN or RGSP).

Underground steel tanks for storing viscous petroleum products, such as fuel oil, are heated.

There are horizontal and vertical steel tanks (RGS and RVS). Steel bins of various sizes are convenient for storing municipal solid waste.

A separate type of steel tank is the silo — a cylindrical tank with a conical bottom. It is used to store:

• grain;
• cement;
• sand;
• bulk polymers.

Depending on the task, steel tanks have different wall thicknesses, can be double-walled or have a protective internal coating.

When installing a metal container, the following conditions must be considered:

• operating temperatures;
• seismicity;
• type of substance and its explosion hazard;
• pressure.
