For modern warehouses, a mezzanine is a valuable structure. It can hold any goods — from clothing and footwear to auto parts and household chemicals. Mezzanine floors are also widely used in industrial construction for handling boxes.
We provide custom design, offer ready-made solutions, review your design and work to it. All products are certified and supplied with accompanying documentation. 7-year warranty on the structure and installation.

What is a mezzanine?
A mezzanine is a multi-tier racking structure. Its main elements are steel frames, decking, stairs, shelves and braces. Custom mezzanines may also include:
-
Various types of railings;
-
Partitions;
-
Gates — swing or sliding;
-
Modules for safe loading of goods;
-
Guard rails — to protect the structure from damage caused by collisions with heavy equipment;
-
Various types of lifts.
Structures are built on columns or pallet racking. Combined mezzanines are also possible. With several options available, you can choose a structure for a specific task. Decking can be solid or open. The first option doesn’t let liquids through; the second, being perforated, is more practical in terms of fire safety.
A mezzanine in industrial construction is a structure that increases the usable area inside warehouses or workshops. It consists of vertical columns connected by horizontal beams. Steel grade and thickness, beam type and reinforcing bracing all depend on design loads and operating conditions. The walking surface material (sheet steel, timber, expanded metal, etc.) is chosen on the same basis.
If the frame is tall (for example, a large warehouse or distribution center), it makes sense to equip it with conveyors, loading platforms and aisles for loading and lifting equipment. This type of mezzanine is called pallet racking, as it allows goods to be stored on pallets (or similar packaging). The most common example is the pallet racking in IKEA self-service warehouses.

Mezzanine floors can be equipped with stairs, railings, gates and guards. These elements make use more comfortable and safe.
Mezzanine installation is simple and requires no complex preparation or other capital investment. Being a demountable steel structure, such a floor can easily be dismantled and moved to another site. You can also extend or modify it during operation as requirements change.
Mezzanine applications
A single mezzanine is used for a variety of purposes:
-
Space zoning. Mezzanine floors are used as a second tier in restaurants or cafés. In this case, for people’s safety, mezzanines must be fitted with reliable railings and guards.
-
Separating office space. The additional area can be used to create an administrative zone.
-
Increasing retail space. Moving offices or restaurants to the second level frees up more space for shelving.
-
Increasing warehouse space. The structure can have several tiers (from 1 to 4).
These structures help make maximum use of room height. Mezzanines are installed quickly and easily. They are demountable, so they can be dismantled if necessary, and easily extended if requirements change.
Mezzanine floors and racking are produced by our Metallfors plant. We fabricate structures of any complexity at affordable prices. Production is preceded by custom design. We use only certified materials, so we guarantee the safety, reliability and durability of our structures.
Mezzanine use cases:
-
Storage racking. Depending on the size of the goods, mezzanine racking can multiply the number of usable levels by installing a stable, reliable structure. Such racking makes storage, inventory and automated loading/unloading convenient. All zones must be accessible by design.
-
Control platforms, second levels for restaurants and cafés, intermediate floors. They zone the room, create additional area, expand usable space and serve as design elements. They must be fitted with railings, steps and guards. Various finishes can be used, which greatly expands the applications of this structure.
