Description

Formwork assembly is the most important stage when pouring concrete surfaces, forms and structures. It gives the setting mix the required shape and lets it become a monolith. Traditional timber formwork is a thing of the past and is used only on small sites. Industrial and large civil construction uses steel formwork — a reliable and durable system that allows construction work to be done quickly.

Steel wall formwork usually means vertical formwork panels with a frame made of 2.5 mm steel profile. Large-panel formwork is universal and the most widely used in monolithic construction.

What is steel formwork? It is a panel with a steel frame faced with laminated plywood or steel sheet. The frame is made of profile with stiffening ribs and withstands up to 400 cycles. Depending on its material, the facing withstands from 30 (plywood) to 200 (steel sheet) cycles. The maximum design load on steel formwork is 78.4 kN/m². Standard panel heights are 2.7 m, 3.0 m and 3.3 m. Filler panels are half the size of standard ones. Panels can also be made to the customer’s dimensions on request.

By purpose, steel formwork panels are divided into:

- linear (form flat vertical or horizontal surfaces);

- corner (form right angles);

- hinged (for angles from 70 to 135 degrees);

- radial (for curved sections);

- universal (for columns, corners and straight sections).
